In preparation for his upcoming solo show this Thursday, January 8th, entitled “Letters From Digested Children,” our good friend Alex Pardee had the guys over at Juxtapoz pay him a visit to get a sneak peek at some of the pieces he’s been working on, as well as a rare look into his studio. As most of you remember we hosted “Scratches & Abrasions” back in July at SURU, where the show was pretty much a sell out as expected. So this Thursday, make sure to call in sick, lie to your loved ones and make it to the show early, because I promise this will be a sell out as well. Good luck Alex! Photos courtesy of: Juxtapoz.

You’ve known about it, asked about it, waited for it and now, it’s FINALLY here! Check out the Play Cloths shirts and sweaters available in store at SURU and soon on SURU-LA.COM

This weekend we took a drive down to SA Studios, and The Last Laugh in Downtown Los Angeles, to fine tune arrangements for Estevan Oriol’s upcoming show. It’s been some time now since Estevan’s last solo exhibition and all of us involved are ecstatic to be a part of this event. As the show rapidly approaches we will keep you updated on all new developments, including the collaboration piece and an interview with Estevan.

Now that the fireworks have ended and the smoke has cleared, it’s time to look forward to what 2009 has instore. The New Year for many has served as a reset button; this time around perhaps the one most looked forward to.

This February Estevan Oriol brings his photographic retrospective to SURU entitled, “This is Los Angeles.” Along with limited edition photographic prints of some of his most recognizable works, a collaboration T-shirt will be released with SURU. A sneak peak of the T-shirt and interview with Estevan will be released mid January.

With just four days left in 2008 and plans already underway for 2009, I wanted to take a look back at the events we hosted this past year. I also wanted to thank everyone that made these events possible including the artists, our sponsors, and everyone at AGENDA. Those of you who came out and showed support for both these artists and SURU, we thank you as well and look forward to seeing you in 2009.
